Chef Michael James points to the sweet basil planted in a raised garden bed in one of the seven courtyards at EASTAR Health System. In about 30 days, up to 12 fresh herbs will be used in patients’ food. Some of the herbs being grown are cilantro, oregano, mint, dill, sage and parsley. James also planted green onions, cherry tomatoes and cucumbers.
