Muskogee Assistant Fire Chief Stanley Perkins, right, and a firefighter examine the damage from a small fire Monday afternoon at the York Street Professional Center, 1805 N. York St. Perkins said the fire was reported at 5:07 p.m. at the back of the building. Firefighters put out the blaze in about 30 minutes. No one was injured. Most of the damage was contained to an area by an employee entrance. Perkins said fire seeped into the attic and caused some damage there, too, The entire building also sustained smoke damage. Perkins estimated the damage at $100,000. He said the blaze was not suspicious, but a fire marshal will investigate. Muskogee Police Officer James Moore said police blocked off North York Street to let firefighters run a hose across the street.
