Muskogee Police are investigating a shooting reported shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday on North Main Street. Aron Grootenboer, 19, of Muskogee was conscious when he was taken to EASTAR Health System and was able to write a statement for police, said Muskogee police spokesman Lincoln Anderson. Police wrapped crime scene tape around the Isuzu and an orange Honda two-door, which had blood on it. The shooting occurred at 2500 N. Main St. Grootenboer and suspects got into an argument, and when they tried to hit him in the head with the gun, the gun went off, striking Grootenboer. Grootenboer drove an Isuzu Rodeo to Ace’s Convenience Store, 550 N. Main St. He was taken from there to the hospital, Anderson said.
