Several young skaters are seen at the opening session of Winter Skate. The synthetic ice rink continues through Dec. 30 with sessions Thursday through Sunday. Cost is $5 per person which includes skate rental. Hours are 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday; 2:30-8:30 p.m. on Saturdays and 12:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. on Sundays. The rink was moved from being a part of Garden of Lights at Honor Heights Park to the north parking lot at Arrowhead Mall. It is being operated by the nonprofit Neighbors Building Neighborhoods with volunteers as a fundraiser to support the group’s community projects. Civic groups or clubs who would like to volunteer for shifts may call (918) 683-4600.
