Josiah Parrish, a hobbyist-survivalist from Oklahoma City, opens a bag of charcoal for students to use as he teaches them how to make a water filtration system using a plastic bottle, cotton balls, gravel and charcoal. Parrish taught the survival class Tuesday at the public library. The students learning were, from left, John Cook, Conner Freeman and Nya Olson.
