Lt. Rev. Charles Smith of the Salvation Army discusses the items missing from the Army’s food pantry shelves following a rough month. “Our shelves are running quite low on nonperishable food items, such as potted meats, peanut butter, beans, Vienna sausages. We are also running low on canned fruit, bagged or box rice, and pasta items,” Smith said. The pantry will also need more food as it plans to move from its appointment-based assistance to walk-in assistance in the near future, Smith said.
