Workers preparing a site for a new downtown gateway monument at the southwest corner of Main and Martin Luther King streets found fuel tanks from an old filling station, said Prag Mahajan, civil engineer with Muskogee Public Works Department. A worker with Admire Construction Inc., collects soil samples Tuesday. The samples will be taken to the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.
