CATHY SPAULDING/Muskogee Phoenix
Meagan Farley, left, and Liz Rohrbacker, both of KKT Architects, step out of a Muskogee Public Schools conference room located in a former bank vault at the MPS Education Service Center. Dozens toured the refurbished center during a ribbon cutting and open house on Tuesday. MPS has had its central offices at the former First National Bank building, 202 W. Broadway, since the mid-1990s. In 2018 and 2019, the building underwent a $2 million renovation. School offices moved temporarily to the former Harris-Jobe Elementary School, returning downtown last December. The Education Service Center houses district administration, finance, human resources, curriculum, the board of education meeting room and an enrollment center.
