CATHY SPAULDING/Muskogee Phoenix
Muskogee police and other emergency responders work the scene of a two-vehicle collision Thursday afternoon. Holly Stern, driver of the Ford Expedition, said she was planning to donate the stuffed animals to a charity. Muskogee Police spokeswoman Lynn Hamlin said Stern, 35, of Muskogee, was going west on Smith Ferry Road when her vehicle struck the back end of a semitractor-trailer, driven by Cecil Votra Jr., 59, of Mt. Ida, Arkansas, shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday. Votra’s truck was going south on U.S. 64. Stern’s juvenile son was a passenger in the Explorer, Hamlin said. Hamlin said there were no major injuries. Seat belts were in use by all. Stern was cited for running a red light, Hamlin said.
