Firefighters clean up after getting a fire at 1453 E. Okmulgee Ave. under control on Monday. An electrical fire tore through the attic of the residence, causing “easily” $5,000 worth of damage, said Acting Assistant Muskogee Fire Chief Ben Terrell. “The fire hit the wall and went up to the attic,” Terrell said. “The damage up there is pretty significant.” Firefighters quickly quelled the blaze before it could consume the rest of the house. Nobody was injured in the fire, Terrell said.
