CHESLEY OXENDINE/Muskogee Phoenix
Muskogee Department of Public Works Employee Jerry Scott uses a skid steer to scrape away a bump in the asphalt on North Third Street. Assistant Public Works Director Jim Wixom said several scrapings are going on throughout Muskogee as the first part of a microsurfacing project. While the actual microsurfacing sealant will be sprayed by a private contractor, Wixom said it was up to the city to smooth out roads ahead of time for the best results. The assistant director said the surfacing project will go on from Elgin Street to Denison Street, and from Main Street to Seventh Street.
