Keith Green, left, and Kenny Byrd of Muskogee Monument set a new tombstone Thursday morning at the grave of Henry Piquard in Wagoner’s Elmwood Cemetery. Piquard, who died in 1919, has no known family in the area. His tombstone was destroyed about eight years ago when vandals went on a spree through the cemetery. Ron Ross, the cemetery’s sexton, was bothered by Piquard’s grave no longer being marked and spoke to the Muskogee firm about the cost of replacing it. He was going to pay for the replacement himself, but the monument company donated the new stone.
