Workers perform surface work on the new Oklahoma 51 bridge across the Grand River at Fort Gibson Lake. The truss bridge will be demolished when the new bridge is finished. The project could be completed by the end of this year or early in 2016, said Oklahoma Department of Transportation spokesman Cody Boyd. The $16.9 million project follows a $9.2 million project to build an Oklahoma 51 causeway across part of the river, Boyd said. The combined projects began in 2012, he said.
